Changes

This summer brought an unexpected transition for me: from CUC to Loma Linda Univ. I was expecting to be at CUC another semester or year at least, but things worked out this way. I know God must have a reason...
In order to catch up since my last post, I finished ochem FINALLY (I could breathe again!! but in some ways I miss the summer school atmosphere--and people) and took an amazing and awesome trip to BC with the Drouin family--David met Olivier Drouin in med school and now their whole family has become really special to us--oh, did I post pictures of Olivier and Leah's wedding? Well, I do know I posted pictures of Olivier, David's and my trip to Scotland last summer. Anyways, after a week of canoeing, going to Vincent and Melinda's wedding (Vince is Olivier's oldest brother) and having a blast in the pristine mountains, lakes, hot springs and ocean, I came back to Maine for 6 weeks, filling my time with an online history class and enjoying the garden produce with mom and dad. Good times!!! (-: Then, after Jenn got back from France, I took her to Nova Scotia on a road trip. It was a blast!!! We picked mom up on the ferry and drove all the way to the tip of Cape Breton Island, which was gorgeous. We camped at some pretty special spots along the coastline. I love going to sleep to an roaring ocean! As if our 2300 miles wasn't enough of a drive, after a few days of Metallak Island camping, mom, Leah (Olivier's wife) and I got in my car for another 4000 mile trip. (I'll admit, it wasn't a direct route.) Ivor Myer's sermons kept us well occupied, as well as reading and staring at maps... And just as a side note, I'll mention that Ivor Myer's is my new FAVORITE preacher in the world! I have learned SO much from his talks this year--he makes such incredible sense out of the Bible, it's amazing. At the end of the 4000 miles, we arrived in Lacombe, AB to pack up my stuff out of the middle of my dorm room. Mom flew home after enjoying a weekend with me in Banff, and then I spent another week there to be with my friends and say goodbye properly for once. And then I made my last big trip of the year from Lacombe to Loma Linda. That was the most simple drive ever! Leah flew back up to Edmonton to do it with me, whcih I am MOST thankful for! She is such a good friend and I'm SO glad she'll be in my class at LLU. That alone is a good enough reason to be here a year before I thought I should be...God always knows what we need before we do.
And that brings us "up to date" for now. (Hence my picture taken near Montreal...)
